There are few things the truly connect everyone in society. We all have different tastes in food and music, few people agree on political matters, heck, most people can’t decide on what the best auto maker is (although we’re pretty certain it’s Toyota). Blood is the one thing we all have running through our bodies, and it just happens to be an incredibly important factor in living a long, happy life.

Toyota and Canadian Blood Services

Toyota recognizes the importance of having a consistent, accessible blood supply for Canadians in need and we’re proud to announce Toyota has partnered with Canadian Blood Services (CBS) to help make sure this happens. Toyota will help CBS ensure their blood supply chain runs smoothly and has a consistent supply of blood and plasma. Of course, they'll need your help to do it.

Why Blood is so Important to Canadians

Approximately 1 in 2 Canadians is eligible to donate blood, but only 1 in 60 actually donate. We all live busy lives, but if the average Canadian knew how often blood is needed, they’d likely be lining up to donate blood a bit more often. Blood is needed for a whole range of medical procedures, and according to CBS, they need 100,000 new donors each year to keep up with demand.

How Can I Help?

Whether you’re donating blood, money, or time, there are plenty of ways you can help. The first step is to head to the CBS website and find out if you’re eligible to give blood. If you are, there are locations throughout BC where you can donate and you’ll be able to book your appointment on the website. CBS is thankful for any monetary donations, along with anyone looking to volunteer and help the good people of Castlegar donate blood. All the info is on the CBS website.
